about

Power Struggle is a Savannah, Georgia based band that was formed by several accomplished local musicians. The band came into existence in 2016, after drummer Bailey Davidson suffered a foot injury that required him to wear a cast for several months. Since playing drums was no longer an option, he began focusing on another passion: the guitar. Bored with playing covers, Davidson began to write his own original songs, and when other musicians began to show interest in his work, he began the process of forming a band. The resulting founding band members—Bailey Davidson (drums, vocals, guitar), Mikey Solomon (guitar), and Jason Anderson (piano, organ, bass, vocals)—are no strangers to the music scene and all three have been musicians most of their lives, with Anderson having played with such bands as The Judge and the Jury as well as Savannah favorite Superhorse.
To contribute to the self-titled debut album, Davidson recruited Savannah-native John Neff (pedal steel guitar) of Athens, Georgia band Japancakes, and a founding member of the Drive-by Truckers, as well as Eric Dunn (bass), a key member of the Gypsy Jazz band Velvet Caravan and formerly of The Train Wrecks.
Power Struggle the album is an eclectic collection of songs that represent many varieties of styles and influences, but is also distinctly Southern. Often compared to R.E.M., Dawes, Tom Petty, and Queens of the Stone Age, this album is sure to have a song for everyone.
